Actionscript?

Posted by Owenn - July 19th, 2011

Hey there,
Lately I've been working on my animation skills and have one project in the works. I've recently been interested in the idea of making flash games. I've always been intrigued by the idea of indie games, but now I would like to try making them. However, this means learning Actionscript. I don't know much about it and I was wondering which is better, AS3 or AS2? I know that alot of people use AS3, but which is better for beginners?
TL;DR, AS3 or AS2 for beginners?
That's all for now, gotta get back to work

I recently got into learning Actionscript myself. In fact I just started on this book which came in my mail today and it's been really helpful since chapter 1!

before that I used this website just to know a little, and again, helpful:

I guess I would say AS2 is much more preferred for beginners. I heard AS3 is harder and uses more coding. But that's what I heard, I honestly never used AS3.

Cool! Thanks, man
